My Dad didn’t want me to be a lawyer. He thought the world had enough lawyers already. He wanted me to teach math. But I saw law school as a way to learn how the world works. I wanted to help people solve complex problems and negotiate their way through sticky situations. Little did we know that as an estate lawyer I could be both a creative problem solver and a teacher.
Before I came to estate planning, I worked as an immigration lawyer in San Francisco. I loved the work and I loved the clients. However, when my family moved to Oregon, I tapped into a wonderful group of colleagues and discovered estate planning. In 2007, I opened my practice devoted solely to estate planning and administration. Owning my own firm has proven to be an exciting time of personal growth, intellectual stimulation and above all a reawakening of my passion for law.
My small staff keeps overhead low and allows me to focus on what I do best – providing attentive, personal legal service. Thanks to advances in technology, I have the resources of a larger firm at my fingertips through access to a collegiate group of peers (the proverbial “partner down the hall”) within Oregon and across the nation.
